We’re starting to confirm some of the workshops that will be happening at this year’s zine symposium. The first one to confirm might be the most exciting though – at the zine symposium 2009 we will be printing a zine during the day.

We are asking people coming to the Symposium to bring in an A5 page for inclusion into this  zine – we thought a theme of ‘live fast or die old’ may give the final zine some sort of cohesion but feel free to ignore this if you wish.

The printing press that we will be using requires a white border of at least 5mm round each page and images need to be high contrast to copy clearly. We will be printing between 12 noon and 3pm and will include only the first 52 pages that we receive so don’t hang about!! (The zine’s limited to 52 pages to keep it under 100g, thus needing only 1 stamp)

By 3:30 we should have the first copies rolling off the booklet maker. The zine will be free to contributors and will cost £1 for anyone else or additional copies. If you can’t stay until 3:30 then there will be envelopes available for you to complete to get a copy of the zine posted on to you.

The printing press, ink and paper are all donated by Footprint Workers Co-op (www.footprinters.co.uk) so all money received by the sale of the zine will go directly to help cover the costs of holding the symposium.
